Kaiser Permanente in Clackamas, OR seeks an experienced RN for NICU to provide specialized newborn care. This role requires clinical judgment in assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care within a collaborative team.

The ideal candidate will have an ADN, Oregon RN license, and NICU experience. Full-time night schedule with emphasis on discharge planning and high-quality patient outcomes.

About This Role

The RN in the NICU provides specialized nursing care for newborns, utilizing clinical judgment to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care. This role is ideal for experienced nurses who thrive in a collaborative healthcare environment.

What You'll Do

• Perform accurate multi-system assessments, including biophysical, psychosocial, environmental, self-care, education needs, and discharge planning needs.
• Develop an individual nursing plan of care sensitive to the developmental needs of the patient.
• Coordinate patient care activities and discharge planning with other hospital and clinic departments and community agencies.
• Initiate appropriate measures based on protocol for the management of medical and/or surgical patients.
• Evaluate assessment methods, plan of care, and patients' responses to treatment.
• Document care accurately in the electronic medical record (EMR) according to policy and procedure.
• Utilize a multidisciplinary approach when appropriate.
• Accurately calculate and administer medications.
• Initiate appropriate measures in emergency situations.
• Participate in unit quality assurance activities.

Requirements

Education:

• Associate's Degree (ADN) required

Experience:

• Experienced level required

Licenses & Certifications:

• Current RN License in Oregon
