Responsabilidades

• Perform comprehensive multi-system assessments and plan care.
• Identify deviations from normal on routine labs and reassess patients during hospitalization.
• Develop individualized nursing care plans sensitive to neonatal development.
• Coordinate patient care and discharge planning with other departments and community agencies.
• Initiate protocol-driven measures for medical or surgical patients.
• Document care accurately in the EMR and follow physician plans.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams as appropriate.
• Evaluate methods, plans, and patient responses to treatment.
• Participate in unit quality assurance activities.

About This Role

The RN in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) provides comprehensive nursing care for patients, utilizing clinical judgment to diagnose and treat health problems. This role is ideal for experienced nurses who thrive in a collaborative healthcare environment.

What You'll Do

• Perform accurate multi-system assessments, including biophysical, psychosocial, and environmental needs.
• Identify deviations from normal on routine lab diagnostic tests and reassess patients throughout hospitalization.
• Develop an individual nursing plan of care sensitive to the developmental needs of the patient.
• Coordinate patient care activities and discharge planning with other departments and community agencies.
• Initiate appropriate measures based on protocol for managing medical and/or surgical patients.
• Correctly carry out the physician's plan of care and document care accurately in the EMR.
• Utilize a multidisciplinary approach when appropriate and perform all necessary procedures correctly.
• Evaluate assessment methods, plan of care, and patient responses to treatment.
• Participate in unit quality assurance activities.

Education:

• RN License required

Experience:

• Experience in a neonatal intensive care setting preferred

Licenses & Certifications:

• Current RN License in Oregon
• BLS certification required
