Job summary

Kaiser Permanente in Clackamas, OR is seeking an experienced NICU RN to provide specialized newborn care. The role emphasizes clinical judgment, assessment, planning, and collaboration in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Qualifications

  • Current RN License in Oregon.
  • BLS certification required.
  • NRP certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform accurate multi-system assessments including biophysical, psychosocial, environmental, self-care and discharge planning needs.
  • Identify deviations from normal on routine lab tests and reassess patients throughout hospitalization.
  • Develop an individualized nursing plan of care sensitive to developmental needs.
  • Coordinate patient care and discharge planning with hospital departments and community agencies.
  • Develop patient teaching plans and document on care or teaching plans.
  • Delegate patient care activities based on patient condition and scope of practice.
  • Initiate measures based on protocol for medical/surgical patient management.
  • Carry out the physician's plan of care and document in the EMR accurately.
  • Evaluate assessment methods, plan of care, and patient responses to treatment.
  • Participate in unit quality assurance activities.

About This Role

The RN in the NICU provides specialized nursing care for newborns and infants, utilizing clinical judgment to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care. This role is ideal for experienced nurses who thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

What You'll Do

Requirements
Education:
  • RN degree required
Experience:
  • Experience in a NICU setting preferred
Licenses & Certifications:
  • Current RN License in Oregon
  • BLS certification required
  • NRP certification preferred
