Job summary

MercyOne in West Des Moines, IA is seeking a registered nurse to develop and implement clinical practice guidelines and care paths. You will collaborate with the health care team to assure high-quality patient outcomes and act as a liaison to coordinate care across settings.

The role requires RN licensure, BLS/ACLS, and at least 1 year of clinic or hospital nursing experience. A BSN is preferred and you will advocate for patients while providing education and support to families.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• RN license current/valid in the state.
• BSN preferred.
• BLS or ACLS certification.
• Mandatory Reporter for applicable patients.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and evaluate clinical practice guidelines/care paths for patients.
• Collaborate with health care team to ensure quality patient care.
• Act as liaison with patients and families to coordinate care across settings and ensure outcomes.
• Welcome calls from patients and families, answer questions, and follow up as necessary.
• Advocate for patients, resolve barriers, and address concerns.
• Provide educational information and resources to patients and families.
• Review literature, methodology, outcomes and disseminate findings from nursing/medical research.
• Establish and maintain a knowledge base of ongoing clinical research activities.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
