Job summary

Cynet HealthStaff in Quincy, IL seeks an experienced RN for Med Surg/Telemetry on a 13-week MS Tele assignment. You will cover 12-hour night shifts with a 1:4-6 nurse-patient ratio in a fast-paced surgical unit.

Must have EPIC experience, total joint experience, knowledge of PCA pumps and reversal drugs, TPN/Lipids, and a strong surgical background; BLS/NIHSS certifications preferred. Weekend/holiday rotations apply.

Responsibilities

• Manage surgical patients, including neuro cases, in a fast-paced unit.

• Collaborate with charge nurses and house supervisors for flow.
• Utilize EPIC for charting and admissions/discharges.
• Handle 8–12 daily surgical admits/discharges with team support.

Description:The role requires working in a fast-paced environment with heavy patient loads.You will be responsible for managing various surgical patients, including those with neuro conditions.Common diagnoses include laminectomy, cervical fusion, hernia repair, joint replacements, and chronic pain management.The nurse-patient ratio is 1:4-6 on nights.There are virtual admission and discharge nurses to assist with workflow.You must be adaptable to the primary care nursing model.Experience with titratable drips and understanding of sepsis management is necessary.Respiratory therapy equipment such as CPAP and BiPAP will be utilized.Shifts consist of three 12-hour blocks starting at 7 PM.Weekend and holiday work is required as part of the schedule rotation.The nursing team provides care in an acute setting.Expect a high patient turnover with 8-12 surgical admits and discharges daily.Nurse aides are available but may be reassigned as sitters when needed.Regular communication with charge nurses and house supervisors is essential for team support.
