Description:Please note that local travelers with permanent residence within 50 miles of the facility will not be eligible for a travel contract.The position is on the 7th floor in a surgical acute unit.The unit cares for post-surgical patients and a wide range of medical-surgical and medical-telemetry patients.Ratios are 1:5 for days and nights.Travelers must float between various like units within their skill set.Weekend coverage is required, with a commitment to every other weekend.Pending licenses are accepted, but quick starts are preferred.Travelers are expected to work three of the five major holidays.All requests for time off must be made upfront during the application process.Inflexibility beyond contracted scheduling may lead to termination of the contract.Staffing includes interdisciplinary support teams such as IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, social services, and rapid response teams.The unit features a central monitoring unit for telemetry patients.Daily census is approximately 29 patients.Skills required include managing various medical procedures such as accessing ports, central line care, telemetry monitoring, and wound care.The facility has a total of 325 staffed beds.
