Job summary

RN - MS at Cynet Health is seeking a Night Shift RN for a 13-week Medical Surgical unit assignment in Petersburg, WV. Nurses will work 12-hour shifts from 7 PM to 7 AM on an MS unit with COPD, CHF, total joints, hysterectomies and other post-ops, with telemetry monitoring and MEDITECH charting.

Must have at least 1 year of RN experience, an active RN license, and BLS (AHA) certification. Preference given to travel experience and flexibility for weekend shifts.

• Monitor patients on telemetry and read strips.

Description:Department consists of 18 beds.Nurse/patient ratios are 1:6.Common diagnoses include COPD, CHF, total joints, hysterectomies, and general post-ops.RNs are not required to titrate drips.Telemetry is available on the unit; staff will monitor and read strips.A charge nurse is available for all shifts.On nights, one of the three nurses is assigned charge along with patient responsibilities.A house supervisor is available for assistance.Nurse aides are present on the unit, with ratios ranging from 1:6 to 1:9 depending on staffing.Respiratory equipment available includes CPAP and BiPAP if established at home.Shifts are scheduled as 12 hours from 7 PM to 7 AM.Every other weekend is required for staffing, typically Friday through Sunday.Holiday shifts will rotate with permanent staff.There is no on-call or standby requirement.No floating requirements to other units.There is no specific scrub color or dress code.Cancellation policy allows for two shifts per 13-week contract.Charting system used is MEDITECH.
