Responsibilities

• Provide care in a medical–surgical unit with patient ratios around 1:5 during the day
• Collaborate with Patient Care Technicians to perform routine care tasks
• Support unit management and float as staffing requires under charge nurse oversight
• Monitor telemetry strips and troubleshoot equipment as needed
• Manage patient care priorities during rotating day/night shifts and holidays

Must-Have: Experience with medical acute patients such as pneumonia, heart failure, sepsis, COPD, urologic, surgical, total joints, general surgery, and occasional pediatric respiratory illness.

Description:The Registered Nurse will work in a medical surgical unit with a patient ratio of 1:5 during the day shift.The nurse will collaborate with Patient Care Technicians (PCT) to ensure patient care tasks such as foley care, CHG bathing, and oral cares are performed.Touchpoints with PCTs will include discussing the plan of care.Charge nurses will oversee the unit and may take 1-2 patients.Patient Care Technicians will have a ratio of 1:8-10 during days, 1:9-10 during evenings, and 1:10-12 during nights.Registered Nurses will monitor telemetry strips and troubleshoot equipment as necessary.Bi-Pap settings should be stable and the patient alert, while high-flow oxygen may be administered as required.Shifts will rotate every other weekend, and holiday shifts will be required.Low census procedures will be enacted as necessary.Nurses may be required to float to different areas based on staffing needs.Dress code requires solid color scrubs.Unit specific orientation will be provided.
