Job summary

UMass Memorial Health in Massachusetts is seeking a Registered Nurse for a mixed, 8-hour shift schedule. The role emphasizes direct patient care, adherence to the nursing process, and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality care.

Responsibilities include patient assessment, care planning, discharge planning, coordinating nursing care, and supervising team members. A valid MA nursing license and current BLS are required, with ACLS/PALS and NRP in select areas.

Qualifications

• Current Massachusetts nursing licensure and registration.
• BLS certification required within 30 days of hire.
• ACLS required in select areas within 6 months.
• PALS required in select areas within 6 months.
• NRP Advanced Provider required in select areas within 6 months.

Hiring Range:

$37.75 - $79.52

(based on a full time schedule of 40 hours per week).

Please note that the final offer will vary based on scheduled hours. Compensation for part-time or reduced schedules will be prorated based on scheduled weekly hours, experience, skills, qualifications, and internal equity considerations.

License/Certification/Education:

Required:

• 1. Current Massachusetts Nursing licensure and registration.
• 2. BLS through either American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC) is a requirement for every RN within 30 days of hire.
• 3. ACLS through American Heart Association (AHA) required in select areas (Gannett, MP1, ICU, ED, Cath Lab, Endo, IR, PACU, Float Pool) within 6 months or first scheduled course offering whichever is sooner.
• 4. PALS through American Heart Association (AHA) required in select areas (PACU, ED) within 6 months or first scheduled course offering whichever is sooner.
• 5. NRP Advanced Provider through American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) required in select areas (Maternity) within 6 months or first scheduled course offering whichever is sooner.

Preferred:

• 1. Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing highly preferred.

Experience/Skills

Required:

• 1. Thorough knowledge of the discipline of Nursing.

Unless certification, licensure or registration is required, an equivalent combination of education and experience which provides proficiency in the areas of responsibility listed in this description may be substituted for the above requirements.
