Job summary

UMass Memorial Health is hiring an RN for the Milford Regional Medical Center vascular access unit. This 24-hour night shift role requires full-time hours with holidays and every other weekend scheduling. The nurse will provide direct patient care using the nursing process, assess and plan care, and coordinate discharge planning within the Milford facility.

Required MA nursing licensure with BLS; ACLS/PALS/NRP in select areas. BSN preferred.

Qualifications

• Current Massachusetts nursing license and registration.
• BLS certification required within 30 days of hire.
• ACLS required in select units within 6 months.
• PALS required in select units within 6 months.
• NRP Advanced Provider required in select units within 6 months.
• BSN degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Utilizes the Nursing Process for delivery and management of patient care from admission to discharge.
• Performs patient assessment and reassessment per standard procedure.
• Develops and coordinates individual care plan including discharge planning.
• Directs, supervises, coordinates and evaluates nursing care within the assigned setting.
• Delegates tasks to others per competency and job description.

2. BLS through either American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC) is a requirement for every RN within 30 days of hire.

3. ACLS through American Heart Association (AHA) required in select areas (Gannett, MP1, ICU, ED, Cath Lab, Endo, IR, PACU, Float Pool) within 6 months or first scheduled course offering whichever is sooner.

4. PALS through American Heart Association (AHA) required in select areas (PACU, ED) within 6 months or first scheduled course offering whichever is sooner.

5. NRP Advanced Provider through American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) required in select areas (Maternity) within 6 months or first scheduled course offering whichever is sooner.

Preferred:

1. Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing highly preferred.

Experience/Skills:

Required:

1. Thorough knowledge of the discipline of Nursing.

Unless certification, licensure or registration is required, an equivalent combination of education and experience which provides proficiency in the areas of responsibility listed in this description may be substituted for the above requirements.
