Job summary

Baylor Scott & White Health - Lake Pointe Rowlett is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Mother Baby unit. The role involves patient assessment, care planning, and collaboration with the care team to ensure high-quality outcomes.

Responsibilities include educating patients and families, documenting care, and maintaining safety standards in a 1:4 patient ratio, 14 rooms, and night shift coverage (7pm–7am) with weekend rotations. Requires 2 years of Mother Baby RN experience.

Qualifications

  • Must have RN license and active registration.
  • 2 years of recent Mother Baby RN experience required.
  • BLS certification required within 30 days of hire or transfer.
  • NRP certification required within 60 days of hire or transfer.

Responsibilities

  • Perform detailed nursing assessments and develop care plans.
  • Educate patients and families about care plans and health needs.
  • Delegate tasks to care team based on patient condition and staff competencies.
  • Monitor and document patient responses to treatment and outcomes.
  • Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary team to ensure quality care.

Patient Ratios: 1:4

Number of Rooms: 14

Shift: FT Nights | 7pm- 7am | 6 weekend shifts in a 6 week period

Required Experience: Candidates MUST have minimum of 2 years of recent Mother Baby experience.

The hospital carries multiple designations including Level III Trauma, Chest Pain Accreditation, Primary Stroke Accreditation, Maternal and Level III NICU. Nursing is on their journey towards Pathways to Excellence and will seek Magnet designation once they complete Pathways.

Job Summary

As a Registered Nurse, oversee patient care using a professional practice model. Responsibilities include patient assessment, recognizing health issues, creating care plans, and assessing patient responses. Secure patient travel. Know about patient needs in healthcare. Help patients and prevent issues. Follow the Texas Nursing Practice Act and delegate tasks based on condition and team competencies.

  • As an RN, conduct detailed clinical assessments and prioritize patient and family needs. Create, implement, and evaluate care plans. Adjust plans to reach desired outcomes.
