Job summary

Baylor Scott & White Health’s new Frisco hospital unit is seeking a Registered Nurse for Mother-Baby care on a PRN night shift. This role focuses on delivering high-quality patient care, building collaborative care plans, and supporting families during hospitalization.

Preferred candidate has at least 2 years of RN Mother Baby experience, holds a Texas RN license, and can obtain a BLS certification within 30 days. The position offers benefits and patient-centered care in a growing community.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years higher-level RN Mother Baby experience preferred.
• BLS certification required within 30 days of starting.

Responsibilities

• Prioritize needs and create, implement, and assess care plans to achieve outcomes.
• Observe indicators and support evidence-based changes with research and hands-on learning.
• Create a caring, safe environment for patients, families, and staff.
• Build relationships with boundaries while focusing on managing pain and promoting healing.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and execute an integrated plan of care.

Our new facility, spanning 340,000 square feet, will introduce a state-of-the-art facility, tailored to accommodate the evolving needs of our rapidly growing population. Among its highlights, the facility will house crucial departments such as emergency, inpatient, procedural, and women and children.

Location: 7600 Better Way, Frisco, Texas

Shift: PRN Nights, one 12-hour shift per week, 7p-7a, self-scheduling, including weekends and holidays

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: Minimum 2 years of RN Mother Baby

Job Summary

The Registered Nurse on Unit is a key player in patient care management, following our nursing practice model. They work with other health care staff to deliver patient care effectively. Our Registered Nurses use the nursing process efficiently. They diagnose patient responses to health issues and create care plans accordingly. It includes evaluating healthcare needs and responses.

Essential Functions Of The Role

• Prioritize needs. Create, implement, and assess care plan to achieve outcomes. Adapt plan as necessary.
• Observe indicators closely, support evidence-based changes with research and hands-on learning.
• Create a caring, safe environment for patients, families, and staff.
• Build relationships with boundaries in mind. Focus on managing emotional and physical pain to promote healing and reduce suffering.
• Facilitate learning for all members of the healthcare team, including patients, families, and nursing staff, ensuring everyone is well-informed.
• Collaborate effectively with colleagues and the community to develop and execute an integrated plan of care.
• Use problem-solving strategies and utilize available resources to support patients, family and staff as part of a systems thinking approach.

Key Success Factors

• Familiarity with nursing and patient care standards and procedures.
• Awareness of legal requirements and standards of certification and accreditation bodies, including the specifics of the hospital and respective department/unit.
• Good command of medical terminology, with a focus on healthcare promotion, risk reduction, and disease prevention.
• Effective communication skills, along with social aptitude for interacting with diverse stakeholders.
• Possessing critical thinking and problem-solving skills is crucial.
• Capability to identify and report changes in patient conditions, develop, and modify patient care plans as required.
• Basic computer skills necessary for day-to-day assignments.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited course or have at least 2 years of experience surpassing the minimal qualification required.
• Field of Study: The applicable major should be nursing.
• A minimum of 2 years in a relevant role is expected.
• Certification: Hold a BLS certificate now or obtain within 30 days of starting in this role.
• Registered Nurse License
