Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking an experienced Staff Nurse to support a Physician Group in Illinois. The position follows a Monday–Friday schedule from 8:30am to 5pm, with no weekend shifts and holidays observed by NM.

The nurse will administer care to acutely ill patients, perform education, triage calls, and coordinate discharge planning, while adhering to ethical and regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• Current RN license in the state of employment.
• CPR – Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Nursing graduate within the past two years for new grads (within past two years).
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs all aspects of patient care using evidence-based practice to optimize safety and reduce errors.
• Administers medications with attention to age and clinical condition.
• Explains procedures and educates patients and families; documents responses.
• Performs phone triage and communicates abnormal test results with care instructions.
• Develops and updates individualized care plans including discharge planning.
