Job summary

Deborah Heart and Lung Center in New Jersey seeks an experienced registered nurse to provide and direct primary nursing care for critically ill adult and geriatric patients with cardiovascular and pulmonary deficits. The role supports unstable cases under charge nurse supervision and mentors student nurse externs.

Minimum one year acute care experience required; cardiopulmonary/critical care preferred. NJ RN license required; BLS-C, ACLS, and related certifications expected within probation.

Qualifications

• Graduate of accredited nursing program (Diploma/ADN/BSN).
• Active NJ RN license is required or valid state license.

Responsibilities

• Provide and direct primary nursing care to complicated, critically ill adults and geriatric patients with cardiovascular/pulmonary deficits.
• Mentor student nurse externs and collaborate with charge nurse for unstable cases.
• Follow HIPAA and hospital policies; delegate tasks to support staff as appropriate.

Job description

Position Summary: Utilizes the nursing process to provide and direct primary nursing care to complicated, critically ill adult and geriatric patients with cardiovascular/pulmonary health deficits, in whom outcomes may be unpredictable; participates in the care of unstable or complicated patients: is supported by the charge nurse and/or CN III in caring for complicated patients with unpredictable outcomes. Serves as a mentor to student nurse externs.

Experience: : A minimum of 1 year experience acute care nursing is required.; cardiopulmonary and critical care experience preferred

Education: Graduate of accredited diploma, associate degree or baccalaureate degree nursing program

Required License / Credentials: NJ State Nursing License

Other Required Skills: BLS -C certification, Basic Arrhythmia Interpretation, IV Therapy certification, Invasive Hemodynamic Monitoring, ACLS and mock code within 90 days of hire/promotion –or- at the first available course offering.

Contact With Others: Adheres to Hospital and HIPPA privacy policies.

Supervision Given: Delegates activities to ancillary nursing staff, student nurses and LPN.

Supervision Received: Works under general supervision of nurse manager or designated charge nurse.

72 hours per pay

The minimum starting rate for this position is $42.70
