Piedmont Columbus Northside is seeking a Charge RN for the Med/Surg unit. The role coordinates delivery of quality nursing care from birth through the lifecycle and provides clinical care as needed to balance census.

The position requires current RN licensure (GA) and active certifications, with leadership responsibilities during shifts. The candidate should have a nursing education background and at least 1 year of hospital nursing experience, with preferences for 2+ years and a Bachelor’s

Qualifications

  • Graduate from a nursing program is required.
  • Bachelor's degree is preferred.
  • 1 year of nursing experience in a hospital setting is required.
  • 2+ years of nursing experience in a hospital setting is preferred.
  • RN licensure required (GA state licensure and/or multistate licensure).
  • ACLS and PALS certifications are required.
  • BCLS certification is required.
  • Chemotherapy/Biotherapy certification required prior to independent chemotherapy administration (Infusion/Oncology).
  • NRP by end of orientation period required.
  • AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring Program within 12 months of start date required.

Qualifications:
Education
  • Graduate from a nursing program Required
  • Bachelor's Degree Preferred
Work Experience
  • 1 year of nursing experience in a hospital setting Required
  • 2 years or more years of nursing experience in a hospital setting Preferred
Licenses and Certifications
  • RN - Registered Nurse - Georgia State Licensure and/or NLC/eNCL Multistate Licensure Required
  • BCLS - Basic Life Support Required
  • Advanced certification in field of specialty, if applicable (see addendum)
Additional Licenses and Certifications

  • PEARS Certification ( at Piedmont Athens Hospital) Required
  • PALS if unit provides care to pediatric patients (Surgical Services) Required
  • ACLS and PALS Certification (Emergency Department) Required
  • ACLS; PALS if unit provides care to pediatric patients (Surgical Services) Required
  • Experienced Emergency Department nurses will have 30 days to obtain the PALS certification Required
