Job summary

Piedmont Columbus Northside is seeking a Charge RN to coordinate nursing care for patients from birth through the lifecycle on a full-time basis. The RN will provide clinical care as needed during census fluctuations and will communicate care plans and staff concerns to the leadership team.

The role requires active Georgia RN licensure and multiple certifications (ACLS, PALS, BCLS, and others as applicable). Experience in a hospital setting is essential.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited school of nursing; GA licensure required.
• 1 year of hospital nursing experience required; 2+ years preferred.
• ACLS and PALS certifications required; NRP, PEARS, and unit-specific credentials may be required.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate delivery of quality nursing care during the shift.
• Provide clinical care as needed when census demands.
• Communicate patient care, staff concerns and operational issues to leadership.
• Serve as a resource and guidance for staff on the unit.

Qualifications:

Education

• Graduate from a recognized, accredited school of nursing Required
• Bachelor‘s Degree Preferred

Work Experience

• 1 year of nursing experience in a hospital setting Required
• 2 years or more years of nursing experience in a hospital setting Preferred

Licenses and Certifications

• RN - Registered Nurse - Georgia State Licensure and/or NLC/eNCL Multistate Licensure Required
• BCLS - Basic Life Support Required
• Advanced certification in field of specialty, if applicable (see addendum)
• ACLS Certification (Cardiac Tele, Critical Care, Surgical Services including Labor and Delivery) Required
• PALS Certification (Emergency Department) Required
• Chemotherapy/Biotherapy Certification - prior to independent chemotherapy administration (Infusion/Oncology) Required
• NRP by the end of orientation period (Women‘s Services: Labor and Delivery, Mother/Baby, NICU, NAT, Nursery) Required
• AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring Program within 12 months of start date (Labor and Delivery) within 1 Year Required
• PEARS Certification ( at Piedmont Athens Hospital) Required
• PALS if unit provides care to pediatric patients (Surgical Services) Required
• ACLS and PALS Certification (Emergency Department) Required
• ACLS; PALS if unit provides care to pediatric patients (Surgical Services) Required
• Experienced Emergency Department nurses will have 30 days to obtain the PALS certification within 30 Days
