Magruder Hospital in Port Clinton, OH is seeking a Registered Nurse to provide total patient care on the floor, including assessments, planning, and education for patients and families.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program with a Diploma, associate degree, or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
• Current RN license in the State of Ohio (required).
• BLS certification required upon hire; ACLS certification and telemetry monitoring proficiency required within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Patient Care & Planning: Perform age-appropriate assessments and prioritize patient needs; Develop and implement individualized care plans based on nursing judgment.
• Treatment & Clinical Support: Administer medications, IVs, and treatments safely; Respond promptly to patient status changes and physician orders.
• Monitoring & Documentation: Monitor treatment response and document real-time updates in the EHR; Use telemetry and clinical tools to ensure quality and safety.
• Communication & Teamwork: Provide clear bedside shift reports; Collaborate with the care team and educate patients and families during care and discharge.
• Leadership & Compliance: Serve as a Charge Nurse or resource; Delegate appropriately; Maintain HIPAA, infection control, and medication safety protocols.

The RN is responsible for patient-centered, total care of the patient on the floor, including basic nursing care and assessment and critical thinking skills to provide optimal patient care to prepare the patient for discharge. The RN will provide physical and psychological support to the patient, along with education for both the patient and their families.

Key Responsibilities

Patient Care & Planning

Requirements

• Ability to interpret basic EKG rhythms

Preferred

• Prior experience as charge nurse
