Job summary

Boston Medical Center is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Medical Surgical/4 West department. The role involves delivering patient-centered care on a 46-bed unit with postoperative and general surgical patients, under a Magnet-recognized organization.

You will work a 36-hour night schedule with alternating weekends/holidays, supporting training, certification, and professional growth within a supportive nursing environment.

Qualifications

• Licensed to practice professional nursing as a registered nurse in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
• 1+ years of RN experience preferred.
• Certification in basic life support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification may be required in certain units.

Responsibilities

• Deliver nursing care in the Medical Surgical unit, including assessing, diagnosing, planning, intervening, evaluating, and educating patients.
• Communicate with health care team members, patients, and families.
• Coordinate and delegate appropriate patient care activities to inter-professional colleagues.
• Update and manage patient records and enter/interpet computerized data.
• Follow guidelines and policies established by BMC’s nursing organization.
• Assist leadership in quality improvement projects.
