Job summary

Boston Medical Center is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Medical Surgical unit (Orthopedics) on a 36-hour night schedule, with every other weekend and holiday. You will provide patient-centered care, collaborate with the care team, and participate in quality improvement initiatives, education, and documentation to ensure exceptional outcomes.

Qualifications

• Licensed RN in Massachusetts.
• 1+ years RN experience preferred.
• BLS certification.
• ACLS certification required in certain units.
• Nursing degree: Diploma, ASN or BSN (preferred), Ability to obtain BSN within 4 years
• Strong communication and computer skills.
• Fluency in another language a plus.

Responsibilities

• Deliver nursing care in the Medical Surgical unit, including assessing, diagnosing, planning, intervening, evaluating, and educating patients
• Communicate with health care team members, patients, and their families
• Coordinate and delegate appropriate patient care activities to inter-professional colleagues
• Update and manage patient records
• Enter and interpret computerized data/information
• Follow guidelines and policies established by BMC's nursing organization
• Assist the leadership team as needed in quality improvement projects
