Job summary

Baystate Health in Springfield, MA is seeking a part-time Registered Nurse for a 42-bed Medical Step-Down Unit. You will provide direct patient care, perform assessments, monitor cardiac/hemodynamic systems, and collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to ensure quality patient outcomes.

The role requires MA licensure, an AHA BLS certification, and either an ADN or BSN. Schedule is days, with a 7a–7:30p shift and every other weekend/holiday participation.

Qualifications

• Successfully passed Board of Registration in Nursing Examination and licensed in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
• Current American Heart Association Health Care Provider BLS certification required.
• Associate Degree in Nursing or Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to patients in a 42-bed Medical Step-Down Unit.
• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and monitor for changes in clinical condition.
• Monitor patients continuously using cardiac, vital-sign, and bedside hemodynamic monitoring systems.
• Provide 24-hour surveillance of hemodynamic monitoring equipment and recognize abnormal readings or trends.
• Respond promptly to changes in patient status and initiate appropriate nursing interventions within scope of practice.
• Collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary healthcare team to coordinate and deliver individualized patient care.
• Educate patients and families, promote safe transitions of care, and support positive patient outcomes and recovery.
