Job summary

Baystate Health is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Medical Intercare, D6B unit in Springfield, MA. The role supports a 42-bed Medical Step-Down unit with continuous cardiac and hemodynamic monitoring, collaborating with an interdisciplinary team to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care.

The position involves night shifts, a 36-hour work week, and a sign-on bonus up to $2,000 with minimum inpatient experience.

Qualifications

• Licensed registered nurse in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
• Current American Heart Association BLS certification required.
• Nursing degree at an accredited program (ADN/BSN/ Diploma) is required or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to patients in a 42-bed Medical Step-Down Unit with complex medical needs.
• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and monitor for changes in clinical condition.
• Monitor patients continuously using cardiac, vital-sign, and bedside hemodynamic monitoring systems.
• Provide 24-hour surveillance of hemodynamic monitoring equipment and recognize abnormal readings or trends.
• Respond promptly to changes in patient status and initiate appropriate nursing interventions within scope of practice.
• Collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary healthcare team to coordinate and deliver individualized patient care.
• Educate patients and families, promote safe transitions of care, and support positive patient outcomes and recovery.
