Job summary

Baystate Health is seeking a Registered Nurse to join the Medical Intercare team at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield, MA. You will provide direct nursing care in a 42-bed Medical Step-Down Unit, work 7:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m.

Qualifications

Massachusetts RN license required.
Current American Heart Association BLS certification.
Diploma in Nursing required; ADN/BSN also acceptable.

Responsibilities

Provide direct nursing care to patients in a 42-bed Medical Step-Down Unit.
Perform comprehensive patient assessments and monitor for changes in clinical condition.
Monitor patients continuously using cardiac, vital-sign, and bedside hemodynamic monitoring systems.
Provide 24-hour surveillance of hemodynamic monitoring equipment and recognize abnormal readings or trends.
Respond promptly to changes in patient status and initiate appropriate nursing interventions.
Collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary healthcare team to coordinate and deliver individualized patient care.
Educate patients and families, promote safe transitions of care, and support positive patient outcomes.
