Job summary

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse licensure in NC.
• 3 years of medical office experience required; 1–3 years supervisory experience preferred.
• BLS Certification by ARC or AHA.
• Computer skills including Microsoft Office and an electronic health record platform.
• Ability to make independent decisions and resolve problems effectively.
• Excellent verbal and written communication; strong organization and time management.
• Competency-based orientation covering age/population-specific skills for practice areas.

Responsibilities

• Prescribes nursing care, delegates activities, and coordinates patient care.
• Assess patient needs and analyze data to plan interventions.
• Develops plan of care using standards of care and policies.
• Provide protective/preventative measures when indicated.
• Educates patients about their plan of care and refers as needed.
• Administers medications safely and evaluates responses.
• Evaluates patient responses to treatments and handles complaints.
• Establishes patient payment schedules and enters registration/discharge data.
• Posts insurance payments/charges and codes procedures/diagnoses.
• Assists with physician schedule including on-call, in-office, and hospital schedules.
• Contributes to policy/procedure revisions and fee schedules.
