Job summary

The Cleveland Clinic is seeking an RN for the Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) in Cleveland, OH. This role provides critical care to high-acuity patients and collaborates with a dedicated team to deliver exceptional patient care.

Key responsibilities include direct nursing care, care plan implementation, patient condition monitoring, discharge planning, and patient education with culturally appropriate materials. Requires a nursing degree and RN licensure with BLS and ACLS CT requirements.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited School of Professional Nursing (Diploma, ADN or BSN program) required
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care.
• Implement and monitor patient care plans.
• Monitor, record and communicate patients’ conditions.
• Evaluate, update and revise plan of care to facilitate achievement of planned and expected outcomes.
• Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
• Assess and coordinate patients’ discharge needs.
• Educate patients and families with educational materials considering cultural issues and other special concerns.
• Administer prescribed medications and treatment in accordance with approved nursing protocol.

What You'll Do

• Provide direct nursing care.

Requirements

Education:

• Graduate from an accredited School of Professional Nursing (Diploma, ADN or BSN program) required

Experience:

• One year current acute care RN experience in a hospital setting or Military RN License required

Licenses & Certifications:

• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required upon hire or within one year of employment
