Job summary

Johns Hopkins Medicine seeks an experienced ICU registered nurse for The Johns Hopkins Hospital's Medical ICU. The role supports high-acuity patients, including mechanical ventilation and advanced cardiac care, in a 24-bed unit.

Minimum 6 months ICU RN experience required; ADN required and BSN preferred with a plan to pursue BSN. Active RN license and CPR within hiring criteria are essential. Johns Hopkins Hospital offers comprehensive benefits and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 6 months RN ICU experience required; 1 year high acuity RN ICU/MICU experience preferred.
• ADN required to qualify; BSN preferred with plan to matriculate.
• RN license active upon hire; CPR at hire.
• BSN ladder advised for ADN holders per nursing guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Provide care in a 24-bed MICU with high-acuity patients.
• Participate in mechanical ventilation, ECMO, cardiac support, dialysis, and IV titration.
• Maintain patient safety, assess changes in condition, and document care.
• Adhere to hospital policies and demonstrate teamwork in a high-demand unit.

The The Medical ICU at The Johns Hopkins Hospital is a 24-bed Intensive Care Unit specializing in the care of a high acuity patient population with complex medical diagnoses. The majority of our diagnoses include, but are not limited to: end stage renal & hepatic disease, multisystem organ failure, newly diagnosed or existing autoimmune & pulmonary disorders, the critically ill antepartum/ postpartum patient, the critically ill oncology patient. Only ICU RN's with at least one year of recent experience should apply. Our nurses provide mechanical ventilation, ECMO, cardiac support, dialysis, IV titration adn more.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 6-months RN ICU experience required; 1-year high acuity RN ICU/MICU experience preferred
• Associate's Degree in nursing (ADN) (Required)
• BSN (preferred) and applicants w/an ADN in nursing will be considered. Per nursing guidelines, must matriculate into a BSN program.
• Basic CPR upon hire required
• Active RN license upon hire required

Salary Range: Minimum 39.64/hour - Maximum 61.45/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility. In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
