Adventist HealthCare in Silver Spring, MD seeks a dedicated Registered Nurse for the Med Surg Urology unit. This full-time, day shift position is ideal for new graduates and focuses on compassionate patient care while developing clinical skills.

Responsibilities include educating patients and families, mentoring Level I nurses, and upholding ANA standards of practice. BLS is required, with ACLS/PALS/NRP as needed for the specialty.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience required.
• Current Maryland State nursing license.
• Active American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• ACLS, PALS, NRP as required by specialty area.

Responsibilities

• Educate patients and families through the continuum of care.
• Serve as role models to Level I nurses.
• Demonstrate professionalism and adhere to ANA standards of practice.
• Use equipment and technology correctly to maximize efficiency.
• Develop a plan of care according to patient population.
• Identify impending changes in patient condition and initiate corrective action.
• Mentor students, colleagues, and team members in patient-centered care.
• Conduct purposeful rounding from patient and family perspective.
• Conduct efficient literature searches and apply findings to practice.
• Identify opportunities for improvement in clinical care.
