Job summary

UMass Memorial Health in Massachusetts is seeking registered nurses to join the adult acute care team. The position requires Massachusetts licensure, current BLS (ACLS preferred if applicable), and a commitment to the nursing process from admission to discharge.

Night shift is 7P–7A, 12-hour shifts, totaling 36 hours per week with holidays as designated. The role offers a collaborative environment focused on quality care and professional growth.

Qualifications

  • Current Massachusetts licensure and registration.
  • Completion of an accredited school of nursing program.
  • BLS is a requirement for every RN unless ACLS certification is current.

Responsibilities

  • Utilizes the Nursing Process for patient care from Admission to Discharge.
  • Performs patient assessment and reassessment per standard procedure.
  • Develops and coordinates individual plan of care including discharge planning.
  • Directs, supervises, coordinates and evaluates nursing care within the assigned setting.
  • Delegates appropriately to others per job description and competency level.
  • Documents patient care according to standard procedure.
  • Develops and coordinates Education Plan for patient/family/significant other.
  • Ensures quality and continuity of care through collaboration with other health care providers.
  • Administers medications, performs treatments, therapies and operates equipment.
  • Participates in Nursing Governance activities and supports professional growth.
  • Participates in performance improvement initiatives.

Complies with established departmental policies, procedures and objectives.2. Attends variety of meetings, conferences, seminars as required or directed.3. Thorough knowledge of the discipline of Nursing.Unless certification, licensure or registration is required, an equivalent combination of education and experience which provides proficiency in the areas of responsibility listed in this description may be substituted for the above requirements.Department-specific competencies and their measurements will be developed and maintained in the individual departments. The competencies will be maintained and attached to the departmental job description. Responsible managers will review competencies with position incumbents.III.
