Texas Health Southwest - Fort Worth is hiring a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Med Surg Department. The role supports inpatient and observation care across diverse surgical and medical services, with a strong emphasis on patient-centered nursing using the Nursing Process.

Requirements include RN licensure in Texas, BLS and ACLS within 90 days, CPI training, and 1 year of acute care RN experience; BSN preferred.

Qualifications

• Nursing Diploma or Associate Degree in Nursing is required; BSN preferred.
• RN licensure recognized by Texas Board of Nursing.
• BLS prior to independent patient care and maintained quarterly.
• CPI training within 90 days of hire (required).
• ACLS within 90 days of hire (required).
• 1 year RN experience in acute care setting or RN residency program required.
• Strong Med/Surg RN experience in acute care setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Delivers care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process.
• Assesses the patient.
• Plans the care of the patient.
• Intervenes as appropriate.
• Evaluates the effectiveness of interventions.
• Incorporates age-specific safety/infection control measures into patient care.
• Initiates information needs for patients and significant others.
• Maintains continuity of patient care between shifts and facilities, including transfers.
