Job summary

Carle Health is seeking an experienced RN for the 9A Medical-Surgical unit. The role focuses on delivering high-quality, patient-centered care to medically complex patients, with a strong emphasis on teamwork and safety.

The unit features a 1:5 (occasionally 1:6) nurse-to-patient ratio, a fast-paced environment, and collaboration with physicians, families, therapists, and pharmacists to ensure optimal outcomes. A $10,000 sign-on bonus is offered for external applicants with a 3-year commitment.

Qualifications

• BLS within 30 days (AHA) and RN licensure required.
• RN licensure required for IL; education includes HS Diploma/GED and an Associate's degree.

Responsibilities

• Perform initial assessment and develop care plan per unit standards.
• Document nursing care accurately for care team integration.
• Administer medications following the 5 rights: patient, medication, route, dose, time.
• Maintain patient safety with fall prevention and infection control measures.
• Communicate with the care team to coordinate care and respond to patient needs.
