Job summary

Carle Health is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for the 9A Medical-Surgical unit. You will perform assessments, administer medications, and coordinate care with physicians, therapists, and families to ensure patient safety and quality outcomes.

The unit operates in a fast-paced environment with a 1:5 nurse-to-patient ratio and a focus on teamwork, communication, and ongoing professional development. A $10,000 sign-on bonus is available for external applicants committed to 3 years.

Qualifications

• RN license required and license in good standing.
• Associate's degree or higher in nursing or related field.
• BLS certification within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Performs nursing assessments and plans patient care.
• Administers medications and ensures Right Patient, Right Medication, Right Dose, Right Time.
• Maintains accurate documentation and participates in shift handoffs.
• Collaborates with interdisciplinary team to ensure safe, high-quality care.
