Job summary

Mercy Hospital South in Saint Louis is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Medical Surgical 7W unit. You will provide patient care using the nursing process, coordinate with other departments, and maintain patient confidentiality throughout your shift.

The role requires MO RN licensure (or compact licensure), BLS certification, and preferred hospital experience. The unit cares for diverse adult conditions and emphasizes safety and Mercy Service Standards.

Schedule:PRN, Day

About the Unit — Medical 7W

Medical 7W cares for adult patients with common diagnoses including cellulitis, pneumonia, urinary tract infections, chest pain, gastrointestinal issues, COPD exacerbations, and medically stable COVID patients. This unit helps build strong skills in cardiac rhythm interpretation, acute medical care, and fast-paced patient management.

Qualifications

Education:Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with one of the following:

• Associate Degree in Nursing
• Nursing Diploma
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)

Licensure:Must hold and maintain a current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Missouri or possess compact licensure, in accordance with state board of nursing regulations.

Experience:Previous hospital experience is preferred and may be required depending on the unit.

Certifications:

• Required:Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association, or completion within 30 days of hire.

Preferred Qualifications

• Education:BSN preferred
• Licensure:Additional state licensure or specialty certifications preferred
• Experience:Prior experience in specialty area or similar clinical setting

Physical Requirements

• Ability to push, pull, and lift up to 50 lbs regularly
• Prolonged standing and walking throughout the shift
• Ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat as needed to perform nursing duties
