Mercy is seeking an Registered Nurse for the Med Surg/7W unit at Mercy Hospital South in St. Louis, MO. This PRN position focuses on delivering patient care using the nursing process, coordinating with multiple departments, and upholding patient rights and confidentiality.
Ideal candidates will have an accredited nursing education pathway (ADN, Diploma, or BSN) and Missouri RN licensure with BLS. Hospital experience is preferred and required certifications must be current.
Overview:
Utilizes the nursing process to provide patient care. Maintains professional accountability for provision of patient care for the assigned patients. Evaluates the overall effectiveness of care provided by other direct care givers. Coordinates the patient care in conjunction with other departments. Maintains patient rights and confidentiality of patient information. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards.

Schedule: PRN
Medical 7W cares for adult patients with common diagnoses including cellulitis, pneumonia, urinary tract infections, chest pain, gastrointestinal issues, COPD exacerbations, and medically stable COVID patients. This unit helps build strong skills in cardiac rhythm interpretation, acute medical care, and fast-paced patient management.

Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with one of the following:
Must hold and maintain a current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Missouri or possess compact licensure, in accordance with state board of nursing regulations.
Previous hospital experience is preferred and may be required depending on the unit.
