Mercy is seeking a Registered Nurse for Medical 7W at Mercy Hospital South in St. Louis, MO. This PRN role supports adult medical patients, uses the nursing process, and collaborates with the care team to ensure safe, high-quality patient care.
The unit focuses on common diagnoses, collaborates across departments, and emphasizes patient rights and Mercy Service Standards. MO RN license with BLS is required; BSN preferred; prior hospital experience is valued.
Overview:
Utilizes the nursing process to provide patient care. Maintains professional accountability for provision of patient care for the assigned patients. Evaluates the overall effectiveness of care provided by other direct care givers. Coordinates the patient care in conjunction with other departments. Maintains patient rights and confidentiality of patient information. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards.

Schedule: PRN
Medical 7W cares for adult patients with common diagnoses including cellulitis, pneumonia, urinary tract infections, chest pain, gastrointestinal issues, COPD exacerbations, and medically stable COVID patients. This unit helps build strong skills in cardiac rhythm interpretation, acute medical care, and fast-paced patient management.

Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with one of the following:
Must hold and maintain a current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Missouri or possess compact licensure, in accordance with state board of nursing regulations.
Previous hospital experience is preferred and may be required depending on the unit.
