Job summary

Sovah Health - Danville is hiring a Registered Nurse for Medical Surgical/Post-Op to work nights (7P-7A). The role features a 1:5-6 nurse-to-patient ratio on a growing unit with spine, orthopedic and general medical cases.

Qualified candidates hold an active Virginia RN license and an Associate's degree in nursing; Bachelors is preferred and BLS is required. Sign-on bonus eligibility is noted in the posting.

Qualifications

• Active Virginia RN license required (single-state or compact).
• Associate's degree in nursing required.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support certification.

Responsibilities

• Performs plan of care interventions, including medication administration, specimen collection, and clinical treatments.
• Documents patient care and monitors patient condition, communicating with care team, physician, patient, and family.
• Assists patients with activities of daily living, including hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
• Coordinates patient care across disciplines, including transfers, discharges, referrals, and support needs.
• Provides patient and family education appropriate to age, culture, and circumstances.
• Advocates for the physical and emotional well-being of patients.
• Participates in performance improvement and continuing education.
