Job summary

Corewell Health is seeking a registered nurse for the Night shift on the 3N Med-Surg/Oncology unit at Farmington Hills Hospital. This full-time role supports chemotherapy, transfusions, and telemetry patients within a unit that includes an infusion center.

You will work under the Nurse Leader, applying the nursing process, ensuring patient-family centered care, discharge planning, and education documentation in the health record. Michigan RN licensure required.

Qualifications

• Associates in nursing required.
• Bachelor's in Nursing required within 5 years.
• Graduates from a non-accredited school must have at least one year of acute care experience or two years in a licensed health care role and must have passed the NCLEX.
• MI Registered Nurse (RN) required.
• AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) required.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional nursing care using the nursing process and patient-family centered care.
• Assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and discharge care according to Corewell Health policies.
• Partner with Nurse Leader and document education and learning in the health record.

About the unit

This 31-bed unit is dedicated to Oncology and Med-Surg overflow. This unit schedules daily short stays for chemotherapy treatment, blood transfusions, bone marrow biopsies and cardiac catheterization. Also specializes with surgical patients with epidurals and can accommodate telemetry patients. The nurse patient ratio is based on acuity, census, and activity. This unit also covers the 8-bed infusion center which is also included on the 3rd floor.

Scope of work

The RN, under the ANA scope of practice utilizes the framework of the nursing process to provide professional nursing care by incorporating patient-family centered care principles to assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and discharge. The RN provides quality patient care under the direction of the Nurse Leader according to Corewell Health policies and procedures and recognizes the impact of nursing care and patient/family partnerships on patient outcomes. The RN partners with and utilizes patient/family input and goals in planning plan of care and develops teaching strategies for patient/family; documents education and learning appropriately in health record.
