Job summary

The 1E Med-Surg/Observation Unit at St. Anthony Hospital in Lakewood, CO seeks an RN to promote patient health and safety through nursing processes, collaborative care, and compassionate service within a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.

This Magnet-designated hospital offers a diverse patient mix in a 22-bed unit, with opportunities to learn across med-surg and observation workflows and collaborate with PAs/NPs to deliver high-quality care.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree in Nursing; Nursing Diploma or by endorsement.
• Active and unencumbered RN License in state of employment.
• Physical Requirements: Medium Work exert/lift up to 50 lbs. force occasionally, and/or up to 20 lbs. frequently, and/or up to 10lbs. constantly.
• One year RN experience.
• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient’s physical, psychosocial, cultural, and spiritual needs through observation, interview, review of medical records & clinical data.
• Develop and implement patient plan of care and observe outcomes in accordance with nursing standards and in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team.
• Demonstrate competency in a variety of therapeutic/diagnostic interventions including IVs, incision/wound care, medication administration, catheterization, and specimen collections; maintain patient charts and records.
• Document ongoing status, interventions, patient response and outcomes in an accurate, timely manner; use IT to communicate, manage knowledge, mitigate error, and support decision-making.
• Provide patient/family education through assessment of patient/family learning readiness, needs, and ability; provide teaching and evaluate effectiveness of teaching.
