Job summary

SSM Health St. Mary’s Hospital in Madison, WI, is seeking an experienced RN to provide direct medical-surgical nursing care within established policies and protocols.

You will use the nursing process to plan, deliver, and evaluate care, while coordinating with the interprofessional team to meet patient needs. Responsibilities include patient education, advocacy, and applying evidence-based practice to promote recovery and comfort.

Qualifications

• Graduate of accredited school of nursing or education equivalency for licensing.
• One year registered nurse experience.

Responsibilities

• Uses standards of medical-surgical nursing practice to increase quality of care and quality of life for the patient and family.
• Establishes relationships and advocates for patients to develop individualized care plans.
• Uses nursing process to develop, implement, and evaluate plans of care and patient outcomes.
• Coordinates with interprofessional team to provide and evaluate care.
• Educates patient and family about measures to promote health and comfort.
• Fosters a healthy work environment and mentors nursing colleagues and students.
• Applies evidence-based practice to ensure age- and clinical-appropriate care.
