Job summary

Mercy is seeking a Registered Nurse for Med Surg ICU on a PRN basis. The role requires one shift in a 90-day period, with responsibilities across the nursing process and inter-department coordination to ensure patient rights and confidentiality.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a school of nursing (ADN, Diploma or BSN).
• 2+ years ICU experience.
• RN license in hiring state and/or compact licensure (maintain active).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or completion within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Utilizes the nursing process to deliver patient care.
• Evaluates care effectiveness provided by direct care staff.
• Coordinates patient care with other departments; maintains patient rights and confidentiality.

Qualifications

• Education: Graduated from a school of nursing (Associate's Degree, Diploma, or BSN).
• Licensure: Is personally responsible for obtaining, and maintaining, a current RN license within the hiring state and/or compact licensure in which nursing duties are performed and must meet all state board of nursing requirements.
• Experience: 2+ years of ICU Experience

Certifications

• Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association or successful completion of course within 30 days of hire.

Physical Requirements

• Position requires the ability to push, pull, and/or lift 50 lbs on a regular basis.
• Position requires prolonged standing and walking during each shift.
• Position requires the ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties.
