Job summary

Sentara Leigh Hospital in Norfolk, VA is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Medical Surgical GI‑Stroke Unit, 2 West. The role supports multiple shifts (Day and Night) on a full‑time (36 hr/week) schedule with a sign‑on bonus up to $20,000 for qualified applicants.

New graduates and experienced nurses are encouraged to apply; the unit offers an 11‑week Transition to Practice program and a 6‑month residency to support growth and development within Sentara Health.

Qualifications

• Degree or Diploma in Registered Nursing (required).
• BSN or MSN preferred.
• Currently enrolled in a nursing program.

Responsibilities

• Deliver competent nursing care using the nursing process (assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, coordination, teaching, health promotion, and evaluation).
• Adhere to professional performance standards including ethics, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence‑based practice, quality, resource utilization, and environmental health.
