Job summary

Carle Health is seeking a Registered Nurse for the 9A Medical-Surgical unit. The role involves assessments, care planning, medication administration, and interprofessional collaboration to ensure safe, high-quality patient care. Quick, accurate documentation and patient education are essential.

The unit is fast-paced with 24 private beds and a 1:5 nurse-to-patient ratio (occasional 1:6). External applicants with a 3-year commitment may qualify for a $10,000 sign-on bonus.

Qualifications

• BLS certification within 30 days (AHA).
• Licensed Registered Nurse (RN) in good standing.
• Associate’s Degree minimum; H.S. Diploma/GED accepted for entry.
• Ability to document patient care accurately in the medical record.

Responsibilities

• Perform nursing assessments and develop care plans.
• Administer medications per physician orders and 5 Rights.
• Document care accurately and communicate with the care team.
• Ensure patient safety and adherence to fall and isolation protocols.
• Maintain unit standards and participate in patient and family education.
