Lutheran Hospital is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for the Med Surg 4B unit in Fort Wayne, IN. The role is full-time at 0.9 FTE (36 hours/week) with day shift 7a–7p and a welcoming environment focused on renal and post-op care.

Responsibilities include patient assessment, medication administration, and collaboration with physicians to develop individualized care plans. A sign-on bonus up to $35,000 is available for eligible candidates.

Qualifications

• 0-2 years of experience in a clinical nursing role or student clinical rotations in an acute care setting required

Responsibilities

• Coordinates and delivers high-quality, patient-centered care.
• Conducts thorough patient assessments and documents findings accurately.
• Administers prescribed medications, monitors for side effects, and documents administration.
• Assists physicians during procedures within the scope of competency.
• Collaborates with the healthcare team to develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans.
• Responds to medical emergencies and participates in life-saving interventions, such as CPR and code team activities.
• Provides patient and family education on conditions, treatment plans, and discharge care.
• Maintains infection control protocols and ensures patient safety.
• Documents patient care promptly in the medical record.
