CGH Medical Center is seeking a Registered Nurse for Med/Surg to provide skilled nursing care on an acute unit. You will administer medications, monitor patient status, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement care plans.

The role requires strong documentation, patient education, and the ability to respond to emergencies. The position includes a 7a-7:30p shift with every 3rd weekend, 36 weekly hours, and a $15,000 sign-on for external candidates with at least 1 year

Qualifications

• Illinois RN licensure required; BLS within 30 days of hire.
• Experience administering narcotics, IV therapies, and charting in acute care.
• Ability to assess and address patient education and discharge needs across age groups.

Responsibilities

• Administers medications and IV therapies per RN scope and Nurse Practice Act.
• Maintains accurate patient records and documentation of care.
• Assesses patient and family education needs and plans discharge education.
• Responds to emergencies and escalates as appropriate.

Shares responsibility with other health care disciplines. Reports to Department of Nursing Director. **ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:*** Ensures optimal patient care utilizing the nursing process.* Maintains patient records and documents to ensure an accurate record of the patient’s medical and nursing care.
