Corewell Health is seeking a Full-Time Registered Nurse for the Big Rapids Hospital. This nursing position offers a diverse range of responsibilities in acute care settings, focusing on patient-centered care while collaborating with a multi-disciplinary team. Candidates will deliver nursing care, adhere to ANA standards, and enjoy a comprehensive benefits package.
The role requires a valid MI RN license and an Associates in Nursing. Employees will work night shifts from 7:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m., with variable scheduling and every third weekend duty.
Big Rapids Campus has a 22 bed medical surgical unit and a 4 bed critical care unit. This campus is the perfect place to gain experience as a new nurse and grow your career. The patient population is diverse and includes hospitalist medicine patients with diagnoses such as pneumonia, COPD, cellulitis, kidney failure, and bowel obstructions. These diagnoses provide opportunities to develop acute care skills such as IV placement, chest tubes and NG placement/management. In the critical care unit, high-acuity patients with sepsis, hyperglycemia, and respiratory failure may require managing medication drips (insulin, vasopressors) and equipment (ventilators and BIPAPs). Big Rapids has a collaborative interdisciplinary team including hospitalists, care managers, social workers, pharmacy, nurse techs, physical therapists, and occupational therapists. Experienced RNs work with the education team to provide onboarding for new hires and grads. For scheduling, we currently have a six-week rotating core to help maintain work-life balance.
