Job summary

Presbyterian Española Hospital in Espanola, NM seeks a Med Surg RN to provide direct inpatient care for adults, administer medications and IV therapies, manage wounds, and collaborate with doctors to plan treatments and ensure safe discharge.

The position is full time at 0.90 FTE with varied days and hours; NM license (ADN/BSN/MSN) or multistate license and BLS required at time of hire; sign‑on and relocation are available for qualified candidates.

Responsibilities

  • The Registered Nurse safely and independently administers prescribed treatments, medications, and nursing interventions based on assessment and plan of care.
  • Appropriately organizes and prioritizes time based on patient condition and expected workload.
  • Identifies changes in patients’ status and acts accordingly.

Summary

Presbyterian Española Hospital provides direct, compassionate inpatient care for adult patients managing acute illnesses, chronic conditions, or recovering from surgical procedures. They assess vital signs, administer medications and intravenous treatments, manage wounds, and notice any sudden shifts in a patient's health status. They also work closely with doctors and other medical staff to plan treatments, educate patients and their families about recovery at home, and coordinate safe discharge.
