Job summary

MedCadre is seeking a skilled Medical/Surgical RN to provide comprehensive care to adult patients with medical, surgical, and post-operative conditions. The RN will assess patients, administer medications and treatments, monitor clinical changes, and collaborate with the healthcare team to deliver safe, high-quality patient care.

The role requires an active RN license, ADN/BSN, BLS, and preferably 1 year of med/surg experience.

Qualifications

• Active, unrestricted RN license in state of practice.
• ADN or BSN from an accredited nursing program.
• Current BLS certification.
• Minimum 1 year of Medical/Surgical nursing experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of patient assessment, medication administration, care planning, and acute nursing care.
• Excellent communication, critical-thinking, organizational and interpersonal skills.
• Experience with EMR systems preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized care plans.
• Administer medications, IV therapies, blood products, and prescribed treatments.
• Monitor vital signs, laboratory results, pain levels, and changes in patient condition.
• Provide wound care, catheter care, specimen collection, and other nursing procedures.
• Recognize and respond promptly to changes in patient condition and medical emergencies.
• Assist with admissions, transfers, discharges, and patient education.
• Educate patients and families regarding medications, treatment plans, and discharge instructions.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the EMR.
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists, pharmacists, case managers, and other healthcare professionals.
• Follow infection prevention, HIPAA, patient safety, and organizational policies.
• Participate in quality improvement and continuing education activities.
