Job summary

San Gorgonio Memorial Hospital is seeking an RN to join the Medical-Surgical Telemetry unit to coordinate and deliver direct nursing care for adult and geriatric patients. You will educate patients and families and work closely with physicians and the health care team to uphold nursing standards.

The role requires a California RN license, BLS, NIHSS on hire, and comfort with electronic health records. Prior acute care experience is preferred to support safe, high-quality patient care.

Qualifications

• Current active California RN license and graduation from a nursing program (diploma/ADN/BSN).
• Current BLS provider card and NIHSS Stroke Scale certification required on hire.
• Must be computer-literate and familiar with an electronic health record system.
• Minimum of 1 year acute care hospital experience preferred.

JOB SUMMARY: RN-MED/SURG/TELEMETRY:

Coordinates and provides direct nursing care for patients, participates in patient and their representatives teaching and provides leadership by working cooperatively with physicians, ancillary services, and other members of the patient care team personnel in maintaining standards for professional nursing practice.

The primary patients cared for on the Med-Surg Telemetry Unit are adults and geriatric patients. The Staff Nurse must be competent in the physiological and psychological assessment of adult and geriatric patients. He/she must be knowledgeable in recognizing signs and symptoms of abuse or neglect, and of safety issues, both environmental and medical. He/she must be knowledgeable of appropriate treatments and pharmaceuticals for adult and geriatric patients.

Requirements

• Current active California RN license and graduation from a school of nursing with diploma, associate degree, or advanced nursing degree.
• Current American Heart Association BLS provider card & NIHSS Stroke Scale Certification required upon hire.
• Must be computer-literate (working knowledge of Word), familiarity with an electronic healthcare record system.
• Minimum of 1 year recent (within the last 18 months) acute care hospital experience is preferred.
