Job summary

The Pines at Catskill is seeking an experienced MDS Director to lead the MDS program, ensure accurate assessments, and drive revenue integrity in a New York long-term care setting. You will coordinate resident assessments, support PDPM calculations, and mentor MDS Coordinators.

Qualifications

• Valid state RN license.
• Advanced degree or certification preferred.
• Direct care in a long-term care setting and/or MDS Coordinator experience required.
• Proficient in state and federal MDS/billing regulations.
• Knowledge of EMR, PDP, MDS 3.0, Medicaid and Medicare requirements.
• Interest in the nursing needs of the aged with ability to work in a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee the MDS program, ensuring compliance and accuracy in assessments.
• Determine PDPM and expenses associated with admissions.
• Monitor Case Mix Index (CMI) scores and reimbursement risks.
• May train, mentor, and manage MDS Coordinators.
• Coordinate and participate in comprehensive resident assessments and care planning.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams for accurate data collection.
• Provide insights and ongoing education to facility staff and leaders.
• Track, trend and analyze assessment data for compliance and strategic opportunities.
