Job summary

Cherokee Indian Hospital’s Tsali Care Center in Cherokee, NC seeks a Registered Nurse to coordinate the MDS and Case Management system, ensuring compliance with CMS and federal/state guidelines. The role requires active participation in the MDS team with timely data transmission and quality indicators.

The ideal candidate has a NC RN license, at least one year in nursing, and knowledge of the MDS/Care Plan process, with strong communication and data-management skills.

Qualifications

• Current RN license in North Carolina required.
• Minimum one year nursing experience; six months MDS/Care Planning and long-term care experience or 3 years LTC experience may qualify.
• Valid NC driver's license required.
• Must know MDS/Care Plan Process and be able to relay medical information clearly.

Responsibilities

• Schedule and oversee all resident MDS assessments, CAAS and Care Plans to ensure timeliness.
• Maintain audit duties, filing, and data entry.
• Protect medical record information according to procedures.
• Coordinate MDS assessments and Care Plan processes to meet Federal, State, and Tribal requirements.
• Prepare monthly reports and participate in QA and Performance Improvement projects.
• Interact with residents, families, staff, and external providers professionally.
