Job summary

UMass Memorial Health in Worcester, MA is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to deliver direct patient care using the nursing process across the patient population. The role emphasizes assessment, discharge planning, supervision, and coordination within the unit.

Qualifications

• Current Massachusetts Nursing licensure and registration.
• BLS is a requirement for every RN unless ACLS certification is current, in addition to unit specific certifications and competencies.
• ACLS certification through AHA is required in select areas.
• PALS certification through AHA is required in select areas.
• NRP Advanced Provider through AAP is required in select areas.
• BSN degree strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Utilizes the Nursing Process for delivery and management of patient care from admission to discharge.
• Performs patient assessments and reassessments per standard procedures.
• Develops and coordinates individual plans of care including discharge planning.
• Directs, supervises, coordinates, and evaluates nursing care within the unit.
• Delegates appropriately to others according to job description and competency.

Thorough knowledge of the discipline of Nursing.Unless certification, licensure or registration is required, an equivalent combination of education and experience which provides proficiency in the areas of responsibility listed in this description may be substituted for the above requirements.Department-specific competencies and their measurements will be developed and maintained in the individual departments. The competencies will be maintained and attached to the departmental job description. Responsible managers will review competencies with position incumbents.License/Certification/Education:Required:1. Current Massachusetts Nursing licensure and registration.2. BLS through either American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC) is a requirement for every RN within 30 days of hire.3.
