Qualifications

• Current Iowa licensure as an RN or LPN is required.
• Graduated from a state approved nursing program as an ADN, Diploma, or BSN degreed RN or as a LPN.
• ACLS/PALS/BCLS certification is required for RN.
• Expanded IV Therapy Course for the LPN is optional.

Responsibilities

• Assist with planning, organizing, coordinating, delivering, and evaluating nursing care.
• Deliver care in accordance with the care modality of the assignment (Total Pt. Care Nurse, ER/Float Nurse).
• Demonstrate sound clinical judgment in assessing and observing patients, interpreting signs and symptoms, and initiating action.
• Be skilled, organized, and efficient in performing required nursing activities.

Position Summary

The Staff RN or License Practical Nurse is a member of the health care team.

He/She:

1. The staff nurse (RN or LPN) assists with planning, organizing, coordinating, delivering, and evaluating the nursing care of the patients.

f2. He/She delivers care in accordance with the care modality of the assignment. (Total Pt. Care Nurse, ER/Float Nurse)

3. The staff nurse (RN or LPN) demonstrates sound clinical judgment in assessing and observing pts., interpreting signs and symptoms, and in initiating action and intervention.

4. He/She is skilled, organized and efficient in performing required nursing activities

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Current Iowa licensure as an RN or LPN.

Graduated from a state approved nursing program as an ADN, Diploma, or BSN degreed RN or as a LPN.

Maintains current ACLS/PALS/BCLS certification for RN

Expanded IV Therapy Course for the LPN-optional
